From Paddleboarding to Pickleball, We’ve Got Your Joints Covered

Do your joints protest after a weekend paddleboarding session or a few too many pickleball games? You’re not alone.

As active adults in the Pacific Northwest, we don’t just embrace movement—we live it. From kayaking on Puget Sound to chasing a backhand winner on the pickleball court, our joints are constantly in motion. But when pain or stiffness creeps in, it can sideline even the most spirited adventurer.

Why Joint Health Matters More Than You Think

Healthy joints are essential to living the lifestyle you love—whether that means paddling out at dawn or hitting your step count on Edmonds’ waterfront trails. Joints connect bones, support movement, and absorb shock. But as we age or push our limits, cartilage wears down, tendons tighten, and inflammation can increase.

That’s where proactive joint care comes in. We focus on restoring natural joint function, reducing pain, and preventing future injuries through evidence-informed, personalized treatment plans.

The Top Activities Impacting Joint Health in Edmonds

Our patients don’t sit still—and we love that. But certain recreational activities put more strain on the joints than others. Here’s where we see the most joint-related issues:

  • Paddleboarding & Kayaking: Shoulder impingement and wrist overuse
  • Pickleball & Tennis: Knee pain, elbow tendinitis, ankle instability
  • Hiking & Trail Running: Hip and knee strain, plantar fasciitis
  • Yoga & Pilates: Wrist compression and hip joint hypermobility

We customize care to help you stay strong in the activities that bring you joy—not just recover from injuries.

How Our Team Supports Your Joints Through Movement

Joint care at our clinic isn’t just about treating pain—it’s about understanding how you move, what goals you have, and how to help you achieve them without limitations. Our therapists take a holistic approach that includes assessing joint mobility and stability, correcting muscle imbalances, and teaching postural alignment that improves real-world function. We use hands-on Manual Therapy techniques to reduce stiffness and restore joint glide, while also designing targeted strengthening routines that support optimal joint mechanics and movement efficiency.

Whether you’re training for your next summit or just want to stay active with your grandkids, our approach is centered on your goals and your lifestyle.

Advanced Tools for Lasting Relief

When hands-on care isn’t enough, we integrate technology-backed interventions to accelerate your recovery and optimize joint health:

  • Dry Needling to release chronic muscle tension around joints
  • Deep Tissue Laser Therapy to reduce inflammation and promote tissue healing
  • Cupping Therapy for fascial release and improved joint mobility
  • Strength and stability protocols designed for real-world movement patterns

We also provide movement education that empowers you to protect your joints while staying active—because prevention is the best long-term solution.

Not Just Recovery—It’s About Resilience

We believe in Complete Recovery and Beyond. That means you don’t just get back to your baseline—you build strength, flexibility, and confidence that extends far into the future.

After your initial recovery, we offer performance and wellness services to help you transition from rehab to resilience. Our upcoming offerings like massage therapy, personal training, and Stretchology will support your joint health as you keep doing what you love.

When Should You Seek Joint Therapy?

Many people wait until joint pain becomes debilitating before seeking help—but early intervention makes all the difference. You should reach out if:

  • You experience joint stiffness after activity that lingers
  • Pain or swelling occurs regularly after exercise
  • Your joint “clicks,” “locks,” or feels unstable
  • You’ve adjusted your movement habits to avoid pain
  • Recovery from activity takes longer than it used to

Even subtle joint changes can impact performance and increase injury risk. Our team listens closely and evaluates thoroughly so no detail is missed.
